Thank you so much for your support and cooperation as we successfully opened the new school year. A feeling of enthusiasm permeated the community among students, staff and you, our parents. We look forward to a very exciting and fulfilling year.

Important reminder: Save the dates!

1. Back-to-School Night - Grades K through 4. Two half-hour sessions beginning at 6:30 and 7:00 P.M.

2. Back -to-School Night - Grades 5 through 8. One rotating session beginning at 6:30 and ending at 7:30 P.M.

3. On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, Mr. Nicholas Carlisle, owner of the No Bully Company, will hold a workshop for parents entitled: How to make your child socially and emotionally intelligent. Social and emotional intelligence is widely recognized as the best predictor of a child's success in adult life, both in their careers, their friendships and relationships. Yet most parents cannot describe the skills that it comprises or how best to teach these skills to our children.

Notre Dame School is bringing an engaging interactive workshop to our school for parents to learn:

The most important social and emotional skills that your child needs for life.
How Notre Dame School plans to implement social and emotional learning throughout the grades as part of our commitment to teaching the whole child.
Ways that parents can best support social and emotional intelligence in their children.

Parents that attend this important workshop will earn one hour of volunteer time and free dress for their children on Thursday, September 23, 2010. I look forward to seeing you there!
